Our shop is run by a third-generation woodturning artisan.

From the previous generation, our traditional craft of turned woodwork, including teacups, bowls, trays, and tea ceremony utensils, has been cherished by hot spring visitors and as Zenkoji souvenirs, as well as for practical use. However, with the changing times, the craft declined, and the number of artisans decreased.

Having grown up seeing the work of a woodturning artisan firsthand as a family business, each of us in the family thought, worried, and struggled. But with the desire for people to know about the rare craft of a third-generation woodturning artisan and to see the beauty of wood, we opened this shop.

Thanks to the continued support of customers from the previous generation and many new valuable encounters, our shop will celebrate its 36th anniversary in 2024. If possible, please come visit us and enjoy encountering unique items with your own five senses.

And, at the same time we opened our shop, we encountered indigo dyeing. Indigo dyeing, too, is born from human hands and has a tradition and history that has been cherished. The way it deepens in character with use is the same as with turned woodwork. We strive to create durable and comfortable products by combining Japanese traditional techniques with Chinese technology.

Today, we also select and introduce items that evoke nature, deepen in character with use, and offer the joy of use, all of which are akin to turned woodwork and indigo dyeing, in accordance with the seasons. We also deliver the sentiments of people who have poured their hearts into making things for others.

We appreciate your continued patronage.
